Canopic Way™ is a women-owned, women-led product company. We build hardware and software that solves real problems — not problems we invented to justify a product.
We're at the beginning. That means the people who join now will have an outsized hand in what this becomes. It also means we don't have the infrastructure of a large company, the perks of a funded startup, or the patience for people who need a lot of hand-holding. What we do have: interesting problems, a genuine bias toward action, and zero tolerance for corporate theater.
We are neurodivergent-welcome. Introverts, deep thinkers, people who work better in focused quiet than open-plan chaos — you'll fit here. We care about what you build, not how you present it.
Open Roles
We need someone who can build the software layer that makes our hardware products intelligent. Concretely: a configuration management agent — software that applies, enforces, and monitors application settings across installations. Think post-install setup with persistent enforcement. It runs in the background, applies opinionated defaults, and corrects drift when something changes it shouldn't.
You know how to work with AI APIs — whether that's calling models via SDK, integrating libraries from Anthropic, OpenAI, or others, or building your own tooling on top of them. You've built things that run as services or daemons. You're comfortable on GitHub and you know the difference between a library and a framework and when to use either.
What we're not asking for: a decade of enterprise experience, a CS degree from a specific school, or someone who needs a detailed spec before they can start thinking. We're asking for someone who can look at a problem, figure out an approach, and build.

We'll be direct: this is unpaid. Canopic Way is incorporated and legitimate, but we're early-stage and not in a position to pay an intern. What we can offer is real work, genuine mentorship, and something worth putting on a resume — because you'll have actually built or contributed to something, not fetched coffee and updated spreadsheets.
We're not looking for the most polished candidate. We're looking for someone smart who's maybe still figuring out what they want to do — and who's willing to roll up their sleeves and learn while they do it. You might teach us a thing or two as well. We're not too proud to admit that.
Major, GPA, school prestige: none of it matters much to us. Curiosity and follow-through do.
